[ARCHIVED] Recycling Committee: 1572lbs of plastic and 3 benches!

Trex Flyer Jan 2019

EVERYONE needs to work on reducing their carbon footprint on the Earth! We use so much plastic on a daily basis some of which cannot be readily recycled and seem to have no alternative but to throw it in the trash.Though its hard to imagine our lives entirely without plastic, the TREX Recycling Program has enables us to redirect some of this hard to recycle plastic from the landfill and oceans into something very useful .. Benches!

Initiated within East Amwell in late summer 2018 this program through TREX has enabled East Amwell residents to redirect over 1500lbs of plastic! As a result our community has received 3 benches to date and we're now working on the 4th!

Thanks to TREX, local volunteer groups, East Amwell Recycling Committee and Environmental Commission members and DPW for their dedication to processing the incoming collection!.. and of course to the donation efforts of the East Amwell Residents!!

If you are interested in joining the list to receive a bench or know of a group who might be please contact the Recycling Committee representatives as listed on the TREX Recycling page on our website. For more information on the program click HERE
