East Amwell Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Many East Amwell residents are in desperate need of help after their homes were devastated by the floods.

A community group has been formed called East Amwell Neighbors Helping Neighbors !

The group is coordinating volunteer help in many ways, such as:

  • Mobilization of crews to conduct major clear out of destroyed possessions at residents' houses
  • Donation of cleaning supplies for the crews and residents to utilize (Click HERE for the Amazon Wish List. Can also be bought locally if preferred and dropped off. Text/call Stefanie (908 892 4722) 
  • Provision of meals, meal deliveries or small denomination gift cards for meals ( Text/call Alison (732 979 9738)
  • Provision of transportation for residents who have lost their vehicles (ie. Doctors appointments, food, prescriptions etc)
  • Provision of assistance in taking debris to the Township Clean Up Day on September 18th

  • If YOU or others you or anyone you know can VOLUNTEER to help in any way please click HERE to sign up and provide detailed information. (Sign up HERE for a specific day to help a house we are working on in need of multiple day clean up)
  • If YOU or anyone you know has been affected and NEEDS HELP please click HERE to complete the online questionnaire - please be as detailed as possible. This includes assistance in applying to FEMA (See below)
  • Click HERE to join the Facebook page for this group - a great way for residents to exchange information quickly. 
  • Cases of water bottles are available for pick up for those without drinking water as a result of the flood at the East Amwell Municipal Building (within office hours: 8.30am - 3pm, Mon-Fri). For pick up at any other time please call/text Alison Castellano at 732 979 9738.

For New Jersey residents living in Bergen, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Passaic and Somerset Counties, individuals can apply for assistance through FEMA the following ways:

  • Click HERE for online application for FEMA Help or download the FEMA App in the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
  • OR Call 800-621-3362 (TTY: 800-462-7585). The toll-free telephone lines operate from 6am to 10pm. CDT, seven days a week. Those who use a relay service such as a videophone, InnoCaption or CapTel should update FEMA with their specific number assigned to that service.

New Jersey residents who live outside the affected counties are encouraged to continue reporting damage (residential structures only, no vehicles) from Ida as damage assessements are ongoing. Information collected in this portal will help local, state and federal authorities better understand the location and severity of damage impacts.
